ABOUT THE PUBLISHER

I started my writing career at fourteen years old when I wrote my first novel Daughters of Disaster. I went on to publish it, (too early of course). I very quickly learned I don’t like others directing my creations. This truly shouldn’t have been a surprise to me in hindsight because I’ve always had a vision for my work. When I wrote my next novel, The Tale of Kore, a decade later, I knew I wanted to direct everything, even if it meant more work, even if it meant footing the venture myself. And so, Mythosmith Publishing was born. It’s a representation of my own beliefs–in history, in literature, and in myself. Of course, I cannot take all the credit. My then boyfriend, now fiance, Darien, truly pushed me to publish. I had been sitting on the manuscript for so long, but with his help and encouragement, I started my instagram account to truly try my hand at this. I launched my book at a local christmas market, and it was a triumph for me. I then did a slew of summer farmer’s markets, and decided to truly take the plunge.

CUSTOM WORK

We have expanded from just ebooks and a small print run to multiple titles, special editions, handmade artisanal bookish supplies, and gifts. The special editions are done by Darien Powlan, and in partnership, we locally source our fabrics for booksleeves, dust jackets, bookmarks, and electronics covers (kindles, ipads, and even laptops.)

If you are interested in custom work, such as custom booksleeves, ipad covers, kindle covers, or laptop covers, please contact us in the form below with the dimensions of the device or book (L x W x H) and the model if known. As well, if you have a particular pattern in mind, please reference that as well! We get all of our fabric from Sugar Pine, a quilting store in Canmore, so any specific fabrics can very easily be obtained.
